The 2006 4-H Teen Conference was held on the University of Kentucky campus on June 12-15.  Coming to Conference is a great way to get to know a variety of people from all across Kentucky. At Conference, delegates attend two different classes of their choice, ranging from making backyard water fountains or making your own sausage to learning about today’s FBI. Sounds good, right?  All four days of Conference are filled with nothing but fun, including classes, a picnic and two awesome dances.

One of the most important parts of Teen Conference is the election of next year’s 4-H state officer team. On the first day of Conference, all candidates campaign using posters, flyers, and other unique campaign items. On Tuesday evening, the candidates give a campaign speech and voting occurs on Wednesday.  The results are announced after State Fashion Revue on Wednesday night and the new officers are installed.

Your experience on the UK campus is unforgettable, from the sites you get to see to all the friends you make. There are plenty of opportunities to learn about college life and all that UK offers, through walking all over campus and using several of the university’s buildings. Kentucky 4-H Teen Conference is, in our opinion, the best collection of 4-H teens and adults in the entire country.  Overall, it is a wonderful week of learning and fun.
